Here Comes the Flood | exhibition

In the presentation Here comes the flood, Muiderslot Amsterdam Castle presents a selection of works by photographer Rem van den Bosch. In his work, Van den Bosch shows how high the water rises when the Dutch dikes breach in a unique way.

Throughout the country he photographed iconic sites, vulnerable to climate change and sea level rise. The photo models are sitting or standing on a red ladder. With their hands they indicate how high the water would rise during a flood. With his work, Van den Bosch wants to visualize the reality of a rising sea level in an accessible way and to stir up the conversation about it.

About Rem van den Bosch Van den Bosch studied photography at the Akademie voor Kunst en Vormgeving St. Joost (Breda) and Narafi (Brussels). He focused on portraits and the human figure. In his search for beauty, he likes to be inspired by classical and modern masters, but above all he is driven by the challenge to constantly create new, surprising images. For it is precisely creativity that has the power to bring change. Through his projects, Van den Bosch wants to encourage public debate about the way we treat each other and the environment.
