Join an exploration of the Laarder Wasmeer, a nature reserve that is normally not open to the public. Accompanied by a guide, you will walk through a remarkable landscape that has recovered significantly in recent years. Where wastewater once flowed, nature now has plenty of space again.

During the walk, you’ll learn how the area was remediated and redesigned. You’ll discover a varied terrain with pools, old heathland fens, drifting sand, and damp valleys. The guide shares the area’s rich history and explains why the plants in the lower-lying parts are so special—such as round-leaved sundew, cotton grass, and marsh gentian. You’ll also see how grazing by cattle helps keep the landscape open and healthy. The route crosses straight through the area, making this excursion especially adventurous.

Dogs are not allowed on this excursion. Advance booking is required.
