Requiem for the Living

During this concert, COV Hilversum and the Promenade Orchestra perform Requiem for the Living by American composer Dan Forrest. Completed in 2013, this powerful choral work consists of five movements and is written for boy soprano, soprano, choir and orchestra.

The composition combines parts of the traditional Latin Requiem with biblical texts from Ecclesiastes and the Book of Job. The result is a moving and expressive work that reflects not only on loss, but also on comfort and hope.

The concert is conducted by Alexander Geluk, with soprano soloist Elles Venhuizen.
