The Oude Raadhuisplein is the centre of the King’s Day celebrations in Huizen. At 10:00 AM, the lively King’s Market begins, and in Kerkstraat children can sell their toys and treasures at the traditional children’s flea market.

Shortly before 11:00 AM, the decorated citizens arrive from the Visnet to the Oude Raadhuisplein. These are residents of Huizen who have received a Royal honour for their special contributions to society. They are accompanied by Drum & Showband MCC. After a welcome speech by Hans Borremans of the Oranje Stichting Huizen, Mayor Niek Meijer officially opens the festivities and honours the newly decorated residents.

The celebration continues with performances by artists and dance groups, as well as lively terraces around the square. The programme at the Oude Raadhuisplein runs until 5:45 PM.

In the evening, the festivities move to Plein 2000, where the evening programme starts at 7:00 PM, followed by the Taptoe at 8:00 PM.
