After the intermission, Schubert’s impressive Symphony No. 9 — known as The Great — takes center stage. Under the baton of chief conductor Jurjen Hempel, the orchestra brings out the vitality, depth and optimism of this monumental symphony.

The concert opens with the overture to Mozart’s beloved opera Die Zauberflöte, a sparkling start to an evening of musical highlights.
