Jazz in 2 : Songs from Brazil

Pianist Mike del Ferro and vocalist Femke Smit present Sintonia, a musical journey through the rich world of Brazilian song. Their collaboration began after a chance meeting in Rio de Janeiro in 2023 and grew out of a shared background in classical music, jazz and improvisation.

Together they explore the lesser-known repertoire of composers such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Chico Buarque and Milton Nascimento. Hidden gems come to life through delicate melodies and poetic lyrics that are deeply rooted in Brazil’s musical heritage.

In Sintonia, the instrumental and vocal voices enter into a musical dialogue that transcends language. The result is an intimate and expressive performance that draws the listener into the warmth and gentle melancholy of Brazilian music.
