Seinconcert: Tim Kliphuis Trio and Claron McFadden

Get swept away by Rhapsody in Blue

Classical music, jazz and blues come together in this special neighbours-for-neighbours concert celebrating Gershwin’s famous Rhapsody in Blue. The Tim Kliphuis Trio brings its own vibrant energy to the piece, taking on the roles of both orchestra and soloist and giving Gershwin’s music plenty of room to swing.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Trio will also perform Hoedown for the Common Man, alongside Gershwin favourites such as I Got Rhythm and It Ain’t Necessarily So.

Soprano Claron McFadden joins the programme with music by Gershwin as well as songs by Cor Lemaire, written during the Second World War. The local community ensemble will also take to the stage with a selection of American compositions. Expect some surprising musical encounters between the local musicians and the guest artists too.
