Fort Spion (Spy)  is part of the New Dutch Waterline. This defense line was built between 1815 and 1885 and functioned - with the necessary adjustments - until 1940 as one of the main defense lines of our country.

Today Fort Spion is, among other things, furnished as a small simple campsite. The perfect base for a few days on and along the water, between the river Vecht and the Loosdrechtse Plassen.

Facilities
No canteen, bingo, swimming pool or playgrounds, but a beautiful small-scale campsite in a historic place. Showers and toilets are available in the fort. There is parking space for approximately 5 cars, but unfortunately, there is no space for folding trailers, campers, and caravans.

Spend the night in the fortress
You can spend the night with a maximum of 4 people in the bombproof guardhouse. The bombproof guardhouse is the space where the officers used to stay with a powder store and a projectile magazine. It is equipped with a kitchen, 2 beds, and a 2-person sofa bed, shower and toilet, wood and gas stove.
