About The Forest Cinema
At Buitenplaats De Hoorneboeg in Hilversum, you can enjoy meaningful films in the middle of the forest on summer evenings, as dusk slowly falls. The films touch, inspire, or invite reflection, drawing you into another world where a deep sense of connection emerges — with yourself, with others, and with nature. From this connection, something new and sustainable often grows, sparking positive change.

Together with film platform Cinetree and Filmtheater Hilversum, the most beautiful films and documentaries are selected around social themes related to people and nature. Topics include mental well-being, grief and loss, health, climate activism, the power of nature, regeneration, family systems, new leadership, and more.

Each evening starts personally
Before darkness fully sets in — the moment the film can begin — you take your seat and are gently guided into the story. Through personal experiences or in-depth knowledge of a theme, new perspectives may start to shine, even before the screen lights up.
